Saturday, May 28 was the first annual Jeff Phillips tribute in his hometown of Dallas, Texas. Pros came out from far and wide to support the event: Christian Hosoi, Pat Duffy, PLG, Jake Brown, as well as Darren Navarette and most of the Creature team came out to skate the new vert ramp in the Texas heat. Local legends John Gibson, Craig Johnson, Mike Crum, and Chris Gentry were there, too. Local Lance Childers even pulled his first 540! There was an art show of classic Phillips decks and photos as well as Neal Hendrix’s photos from his travels over the years. The event was organized by The Overground Project and benefited the Suicide and Crisis Center Of North Texas. Check out some interviews with the guys and footage of the vert skating.
