Body Glove - The Disappearance - Imaginarium 2012 [Transworld Surf]
Winner of the 2012 Transworld SURF, Imaginarium contest and featured in
the X-Dance Film Festival, The Disappearance follows a group of four
professional surfers and six filmmakers on what should have been the
ultimate surf trip to the jungles of Indonesia but quickly became an
excursion into heart-stopping terror. As the group discovers a secret
perfect wave, strange images begin to appear on film. Are they sharks,
alligators, or something else? Fear sets in. Accusations fly. By night,
unseen evil stirs beyond their campfire's light. By day, large animal
prints are discovered nearby. Members of the crew begin to disappear one
by one. As the end of their journey approaches, they realize that what
they are filming is not an epic trip but their own descent into
unimaginable horror.
This is the footage found on the multiple hard drives and cameras recovered at the destroyed campsite. The disappearance of the eight adventurers is still under investigation. Two survivors have been questioned repeatedly and continue to tell investigators strange stories of a sea creature. Search and rescue has finally reached the remote jungle campsite, but contact has been lost as of this press release. All attempts to establish contact with the search party have gone unsuccessful.

Intentio - Loïc Wirth
Intentio - Trailer from Loic Wirth on Vimeo.
Craig Anderson, Chippa Wilson and Gabriel Medina all feature in new surf flick Intentio. If you’re a fan of Globe’s recent offerings, or T.Steele’s Castles In The Sky you’re to going wanna get your hands on a copy.
Shot throughout New Zealand, Uruguay, France, and Brazil film maker Loic Wirth weaves traditional and high-fi surfing together with travel inspiring lifestyle shots.
Loic is half Belgian half Brazilian global roamer who splits his time between France and Florianopolis in Brazil. He’s worked on multiple projects for Surf Europe, Red Bull and Volcom, but made a name for himself after pulling together Marco Giorgi’s Innersection part, one of the 2011 compilation movie’s highlights.

Making and promoting a movie without brand’s support or budgets strictly for the love ain’t easy. Making it good with those restraints is near impossible, but Wirth has nailed it with his maiden release.
Alongside Chippa, Ando and Medina there’s also a host of upcoming Brazilians you’ve never heard of, but their sections stand up against the better-known names. Jean De Silva and Cristian Muller have a myriad of tech tricks on lock, and brilliantly named redhead, Fernando Fanta, shines too.

Intentio recently opened to critical acclaim when it scooped the ‘Most Innovative Film’ at the San Sebastian Film Festival. It’ll be soon be up on iTunes and is definitely worth the download.
Or if you can’t wait head on over Garage to purchase.

Globe's ELECTRIC BLUE HEAVEN
Introducing Globe's ELECTRIC BLUE HEAVEN, a short, conceptual film
featuring Dion Agius in the WORLD'S BEST WAVE POOL! Read on to know more...
A few weeks back, Dion Agius and crew embarked on a journey to the Middle East. A journey for waves. A journey that would bring Dion to unleash on the world's best man made wave. A studio for surfing. Smack in the middle of a desert mountain range in a foreign land.
There was a concept. A concept involving 10 Russian models, a Lamborghini, and Dion boosting virtually every air in the book, plus a couple new ones. Electric blue water contrasting against wild mountainous backdrops.
A story was captured. Captured through the lenses of Joe G, DJ Struntz, Beren Hall, and Grady Archbold. Motion & Still. Film & HD. The story will be told through the pages of our global media partners and through this short film directed by Joe G.
For the full story check out the latest issue of SURFING MAG (USA), STAB (AUS), DESILLUSION (EU), SURFIN' LIFE (JAP), LA FLUIR (BRA), 7 MARES (CENTRAL AMERICA), and CARVE (UK).

Peter Brings the Shadow to Life by predatory bird
The title of this video by Joe Pease comes from this essay - yhoo.it/IBn2mK - which contains paragraphs such as, "It is not uncommon for children to play with their shadows or to imagine that they are tangible. However, in order to grow up, children must leave behind this fantasy...no one ever fully grows up. Instead, growing up is a process that continues throughout life." Of course, it might just be a bunch of shadows. Music by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis.

Thom: A Portrait of Modern Youth by Riley Blakeway [Online release]
A short, experimental documentary piece about a 19 year old teen growing up in Australia- Exploring the mind of modern youth and Generation Y.
Written and Directed by Riley Blakeway
Assistant Editor - Jeremy Asher Lynch
Film & Telecine - Nano Lab
"Why did you make Thom?"
"It was about the progression of my work in film. That was another reason I wanted to shoot everything in Super 8. I funded everything myself and didnʼt send out any proposals or anything like that. It wouldnʼt really have made sense to do so. I wanted to keep everything as in touch with the reference piece as possible and keep it indie. I didnʼt want any “cool” brand associations. I wanted it to stand alone. A lot of the film was scripted, even down to the exact shot. But, mostly out of anticipation, as I know Thom so well. The socially awkward responses were something that I anticipated and knew would complete the film for me. At first, I dubbed all of my audio with an American voiceover but scratched it at the last minute because of the loss of chemistry. It was more pre- and post-production than almost anything Iʼve made. Mostly with the edit and sound sync working with Super 8. I had to shoot everything in 30-second intervals to keep costs down and keep everything in sync. After finalising the piece to 12 minutes, I sent it to a studio in LA for the final mix. It came back sounding worse so I recorded all of the sound elements onto a tape using a four-track recorder and mixed the sound live manually.
