Frenzal Rhomb - Knuckleheads

Frenzal Rhomb - Knuckleheads Lyrics

I like football
As much as the next guy,
But fuck all of those,
Those rapist meat-boys.
Some animals are
Much better then that

And everytime we meet it ends up in strife
You fucks have been my enemy my whole fucking life
And I'll never make amends
And you were always not my friend
You fucken' knuckleheads
(Knuckleheads)
You fucken' knuckleheads

But he's one of of the good guys,
And all's forgiven.
Just keep your head down
Crucifixion
Is better than that...

And everytime we meet it ends up in strife
You fucks have been my enemy my whole fucking life
And I'll never make amends
And you were always not my friend
You fucken' knuckleheads

Matt Meola & Albee Layer - "The Isle" Teaser

Is it weird that two BFF’s should surf so well? Maui life-buddies Matt Meola and Albee Layer have been pushing the envelope on all fronts lately: innovative airs, paddle-in Jaws, wonderful wipeouts, online smack-talk. They surf together. Blog together. Enter Internet competitions together. It might be awkward if it weren’t so rad to watch – both together and apart, these guys are raising the freesurfing bar. They can’t even remember how long it’s been going on. “Matt’s just kinda always been there,” says Albee. “He’s one of my oldest friends.”

That’s super cute and all, but they’d just be two more undiscovered island boys if it wasn’t for the power of this thing called “the Internet”: both surfers blew up on Taylor Steele’s Innersection project (Meola won the first $100k and Albee’s a solid contender for this year’s prize); they tandem-post a blog site together (meolalayerproductions.com); and now, they’re launching their own YouTube buddy-surf web-series, called The Isle.

SURFING: Is this just your way of never having to leave Maui?
MATT MEOLA: I personally think Maui is the best place on earth. We called it “The Isle” because this is where we are from and who we are. We love to travel, but in the winter we have no reason to. There will for sure be episodes where we are traveling and surfing other waves.

SURFING: So, what’s this show about?
MEOLA: The premise of this series is to show the world who Albee and I are. To tell the truth, we don’t like where the sport is going right now, and we want to change it. The level of surfing is being pushed harder than ever, but the image around surfers is going down the drain.

SURFING: And what’s that image?

MEOLA: The stereotypical pro surfer these days are fashion-hungry hipsters who surf mostly small waves and do drone interviews telling everybody exactly what they wanna hear. Albee and I are country boys. I feel like we are not on the same page as a lot of the surfers nowadays. So, in this series we will have the chance to state our opinions. We want everybody to get to know us, not only our surfing. We want to show everybody what the life of a pro surfer from Maui is.

SURFING: So, who exactly is putting this show together?
MEOLA: Albee and I are the main surfers, but we’ve got tons of friends from here that are underground rippers. We wouldn’t be who we are with out the people we hang out with. So, if they rub the camera the right way, you can bet your ass they’re getting a shot.

SURFING: You and Albee seem really close. Is it love?
MEOLA: I once snuck in the bathroom when he was taking a shower and pissed on his leg, but that’s the closest our swords have ever come to crossing.

SURFING: Um, let’s change the subject. You’ve been telling people to vote for Albee’s Innersection over your own — do you think he’s gonna win the $100k?
MEOLA: I’m guessing he’s pretty nervous at this point. Albee isn’t the kind of guy who would want to win if he didn’t deserve it. I feel like his part is a step ahead of them all. Mental theme. Huge paddle-ins. Massive barrels. And some of the most progressive airs ever. Plus, he could probably use the money more than most of the people entered.

SURFING: Will we be seeing much of Willie Nelson and Woody Harrelson on “The Isle”?
MEOLA: I don’t know about that, but Willie’s son Lucas is a good friend and I love his music, so there’s a good chance of him showing up in Episode 2.

Albee and Matt’s “THE ISLE” premieres this week on rockstar69.com

Frenzal Rhomb - Hungry Jacks Carpark

Frenzal Rhomb - Hungry Jacks Carpark Lyrics

I'm on another planet,
it could've been 'round June
And she's face down in the oil stain,
of a lowered subaru
And she's turning cold,
at 15 years old,
taking too much slow,
mind's gone out to sea
on the P&O,
don't know what to do,
rotten shade of blue
Another case of
"stupid is as stupid does"

At 45 his better angel
has been shot
right through the head
But he sure knows how to
throw a party,
blue fluorescent flashing overhead

And they're doing smack,
outside Hungry Jacks, Sunday 8am,
I want more for them
than an ambulance,
and a value meal, $120 deal

Another case of
"stupid is as stupid does"

And she's turning cold
at 15 years old,
taking too much slow,
Another case of
"stupid is as stupid does"
Don't know what to do,
rotten shade of blue
Another case of
"stupid is as stupid does" [x3]

Pantera - Fucking Hostile [Live - Donington 1994]

Pantera - Fucking Hostile Lyrics

Almost every day, i see the same face
on broken picture tube, it fits the attitude.
If you could see yourself, you put you on a shelf
your verbal masturbate, promise to nauseate.
Today I'll play the part of non-parent,
not make a hundred rules for you to know about yourself.
Not lie and make you believe what's evil is making love,
making friends and meeting God your own way ...the right way.

To see, to be cannot be taught
In turn, you're making us
Fucking Hostile

We stand alone,
the truth in right and wrong, the boundaries of the law,
you seem to miss the point, arresting for a joint?
You seem to wonder why hundreds of people die,
you're writing tickets man, my mom got jumped they ran!
Now I'll play a public servant,
to serve and protect by the Law and the State.
I'd bust the punks that rape steal and murder
and leave you be, if you crossed me.
I'd shake your hand like a man, not a God!

To see, to be cannot be taught
In turn, you're making us
Fucking Hostile

Come meet your maker boy, somethings you can't enjoy.
Because of Heaven/Hell, a fucking wive's tale.
They put it in your head, then put you in your bed.
He's watching - say your prayers.
'cause God is everywhere.
Now I'll play a man learning priesthood,
who's about to take the ultimate test in life.
I'd question things because I am human,
and call no one my father who's no closer than a stranger.
I won't listen!

To see, to be cannot be taught
In turn, you're making us
Fucking Hostile

Otis Carey in 'A Day in Bondi with a Cobba Dingo'

The short film series gets an insight into sideways standing personalities. We let them speak their mind, follow them round and watch them shred. Its a one day shoot and insight into their life.

We chin wag with this cobba dingo about moving to Bondi from sleepy Coffs Harbour, being a young dad, what makes him tick and general life pondering thoughts. Otis is a unique character and does things his own way.

"I don't think anyone knows what their purpose is in life, I'm already a happy man. The fact i have a son makes me happy. Every night i go to bed happy. I'm never really grumpy or anything. Whats the point of being grumpy?"

Frenzal Rhomb - 5000 Cigarettes

Frenzal Rhomb - 5000 Cigarettes Lyrics

8 miles of nothing and a hundred tonnes of will to survive,
Can't se the devil so you know that your still alive,
There's nothing out here but the sun so fuck up and drive

And I've got 5000 cigarettes in the back of the car,
We've gotta move'em now or we won't get far,
Sleeping on the dirt with the shooting stars.
A little sleight of hand,
A little contraband.

There's carcass on the bumper bar there's blood on the glass,
Picked up a problem and we're gonna lose him fast
This is the best day on earth but it could be the last

And I've got 5000 cigarettes in the back of the car,
We've gotta move'em now or we won't get far,
Sleeping on the dirt with the shooting stars.
A little sleight of hand,
A little contraband and desert sand.

Guttermouth - I Won't See You In The Pit

Guttermouth - I Won't See You In The Pit Lyrics

Listen to me its a 100 degrees
And still you've got your leather jacket on
I know it sure looks nice
Like sugar and some spikes
To be in vogue who cares if the heat is on

To you, your cause is valid
But you're on the outside
Join the rank you are fighting you will see
Take over from inside

25 minutes just a puttin up your hawk
Oh boy does it look good and boy do you look smart
You can sing about change
But what's the fucking point
Cops have control oink, oink, oink

To you, your cause is valid
But you're on the outside
Join the rank you are fighting you will see
Take over from inside

To you, your cause is valid
But you're on the outside
Join the rank you are fighting you will see
Take over from inside

KNOT AGAIN! 2012 Volcom Miniramp Contest at ISPO

Yes we did it again, the 2012 edition didn't disappoint! With a three day contest and four days of mayhem at the Volcom booth at ISPO in Munich. Skaters, sailors, fishermen and the audience got their bodies washed away by the high seas. On day one, some cash was flooded to the best tricks done all over the ramp. Danny Carlsen from Denmark is a trick machine and his fast feet earned him a bunch of 20€ and 50€ with blunt three's and a half cab blunt bs flip out...but Fernando Bramsmark impressed everyone with some tech trick transfers and some massive oververt to anchor transfers and won the 300€ best trick on top of some more cash.
The contest was held on day two with too much stuff going on to be said, from Mike Vallely appearance to Rune Glifberg antics (anchor to disaster as for example), Fernando pushing his limits, Jake Collins adding some tech to the speed and Ben Hatchell putting on a show. Just check out the video edit to get an idea, the Final was the best one so far!
On the third day a double trouble tournament was sweeping the last day's hungover, with tons of fun and "X treme" duos... Rune and Balder skated fast and as close as possible, Ben Hatchell flew 2 meters over little Mats Hatlem (11 years old) with a fs flip indy, Julien Benoliel and Jarne Verbruggen got tech style-synchro but Alain Goikoetxea and Kako went over the top with Alain flying over Kako's invert on the extension and won the double-trouble prize.

RESULTS:
1st Ben Hatchell 3000€
2nd Jake Collins 1500€
3rd Fernando Bramsmark 1000€
4th Rune Glifberg 700€
5th Josh Young 400€
6th Ivan Rivado 200€

Best Trick:
Fernando Bramsmark 300€
Cash: Fernando 190€, Danny Carlsen 130€, Kris Vile 120€, Phil Zwijsen 100€, Ivan Rivado 70€, Jarne Verbruggen 50€, Julien Benoliel 20€, Sam Pulley 20€

Double Trouble:
Alain Goikoetxea & Inaki Fernandez (Kako) 200€

Cross Examination - Maximum Overchill

Cross Examination - Maximum Overchill Lyrics

It's three in the afternoon and
you've got some time you can kill
before the party tonight
so you decide to just chill
your couch cushions spend some
quality time with your ass
while you turn on your tv, sit back,
smoke and relax to the

max - your body temperature falls
maximum - heart rate slows to a crawl
maximum overchill
max - your blood begins to freeze
maximum - brings you to your knees
maximum overchill

get up, lets leave this place
your party potential has gone to waste
the wimpiness shown here
should be a crime
when you chill this hard
it just wastes my time

your friends are worried
haven't seen you for days
while you've been couch-sloshed
smoked out in a videogame haze
the screen keeps on flashing "game over"
you're through
but its not just the game
its referring to you

max - your body temperature falls
maximum - heart rate slows to a crawl
maximum overchill
max - your blood begins to freeze
maximum - brings you to your knees
maximum overchill

what happened, you see, is inactivity
caused your very particle atoms to freeze
you're a block of ice, devoid of all life
frozen to your couch
dead by your own design

Honey, I got a right, a right to move

No matter what they say!
Anytime I want I got a right to sing -
No matter what they say!

Skin by Stamp

Directed by Ryan Hope, Skin is a dark, stylish examination of tattoo culture as high art, and a film that tests the boundaries of art and the human body.

Featuring contributions from Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons and Raymond Pettibon, the film is a beautiful visual essay from the frontiers of contemporary British art.

Skin was made in association with Garage Magazine to mark the launch issue, and was made possible by the generosity of Christie's, the world's leading art business, and W Hotels.

Thom: A Portrait of Modern Youth by Riley Blakeway [Online release]

A short, experimental documentary piece about a 19 year old teen growing up in Australia- Exploring the mind of modern youth and Generation Y.

Written and Directed by Riley Blakeway

THOM - A PORTRAIT OF MODERN YOUTH from Riley Blakeway on Vimeo.

"Why did you make Thom?"

"It was about the progression of my work in film. That was another reason I wanted to shoot everything in Super 8. I funded everything myself and didnʼt send out any proposals or anything like that. It wouldnʼt really have made sense to do so. I wanted to keep everything as in touch with the reference piece as possible and keep it indie. I didnʼt want any “cool” brand associations. I wanted it to stand alone. A lot of the film was scripted, even down to the exact shot. But, mostly out of anticipation, as I know Thom so well. The socially awkward responses were something that I anticipated and knew would complete the film for me. At first, I dubbed all of my audio with an American voiceover but scratched it at the last minute because of the loss of chemistry. It was more pre- and post-production than almost anything Iʼve made. Mostly with the edit and sound sync working with Super 8. I had to shoot everything in 30-second intervals to keep costs down and keep everything in sync. After finalising the piece to 12 minutes, I sent it to a studio in LA for the final mix. It came back sounding worse so I recorded all of the sound elements onto a tape using a four-track recorder and mixed the sound live manually.
