Monster Children Team Average [surf & skate]
At 2pm on a rainy Thursday in March we loaded Kevin Terpening, Dylan Rieder, Sammy Winter,
Dane Reynolds, Austyn Gillette, Warren Smith and Craig Anderson into a pair of Hyundai Bongo
Vans and drove them up the east coast of Australia. One thousand clicks were covered and
what could be skated and surfed, was skated and surfed by everyone.
The team camped in Forster, Taree and Crescent Head.
The Yamba Pub was trashed and Warren coined the term 'skurf.'
It was good. This is the result put together by our good friends at Marine Layer.

This is Ozzie - Desillusion magazine
Desillusion magazine, supported by Volcom and Electric visual are proud to present their latest video “This is Ozzie”, a video portrait that pays tribute to the Australian surfer Ozzie Wright.
THIS IS OZZIE - TOME 3 from Desillusion Magazine on Vimeo.
THIS IS OZZIE - TOME 3 from Desillusion Magazine on Vimeo.
Born and raised in a family that he himself calls "a bunch of hippies" , Ozzie grew up on the beaches of northern Sydney, known today to be amongst the most competitive in the world - beaches that gave birth to world champions such as Tom Caroll and Nat Young. But Ozzie quickly decided to choose a different path than the one that led to competitions. Inspired by the skate and punk scene, he was the first person to bring humor and DIY philosophy to the surf scene. From the paintings on his boards, the shape, his special way of surfing ( a melange of strength and airs, normally done in skateboarding) , to the creation of his punk rock band Goon of Doom, Ozzie's the man who gave new insight to surfing, a fresh perspective that inspired a whole generation of surfers. ( Dane Reynolds, Alex Knost, Dion Agius, etc)
“This is Ozzie” is a portrait of one of the most intriguing personalities that surfing has ever seen. With interview footage that's never been seen before , Wright shares his fear, his love and his original lifestyle, an pure ode to the core of surf spirit.
After the great success of “This is Trouble”, a short movie portraying snowboarder and musician Trevor “Trouble” Andrew that was launched last February ( vimeo.com/desillusion/thisistrouble), and the second, a tribute to Andrew Reynolds “ This is Andrew” ( vimeo.com/desillusion/thisisandrew ) , "This is Ozzie” is the third video made by Desillusion magazine , a dedication to one of their most influential inspirations in the board culture scene. The video comes with the latest issue of Desillusion magazine featuring Ozzie Wright as their exclusive guest editor, available on dslmag.com/v5/shop.php

Globe's ELECTRIC BLUE HEAVEN
Introducing Globe's ELECTRIC BLUE HEAVEN, a short, conceptual film
featuring Dion Agius in the WORLD'S BEST WAVE POOL! Read on to know more...
A few weeks back, Dion Agius and crew embarked on a journey to the Middle East. A journey for waves. A journey that would bring Dion to unleash on the world's best man made wave. A studio for surfing. Smack in the middle of a desert mountain range in a foreign land.
There was a concept. A concept involving 10 Russian models, a Lamborghini, and Dion boosting virtually every air in the book, plus a couple new ones. Electric blue water contrasting against wild mountainous backdrops.
A story was captured. Captured through the lenses of Joe G, DJ Struntz, Beren Hall, and Grady Archbold. Motion & Still. Film & HD. The story will be told through the pages of our global media partners and through this short film directed by Joe G.
For the full story check out the latest issue of SURFING MAG (USA), STAB (AUS), DESILLUSION (EU), SURFIN' LIFE (JAP), LA FLUIR (BRA), 7 MARES (CENTRAL AMERICA), and CARVE (UK).

Hot Water Music - Mainline
Hot Water Music - Mainline Lyrics
Never mind all the riddles, we're all sick the same
Bled dry and beaten but still quick to blame
All the marks, all the nicks on all the ragged excuses
Never mind all the railing, they'll all get their own
Shot down and plundered, shipped out and sold
For all the marks, all the nicks by all the pessimistic tricks
We are here and time is relevant to mainline every worthy element.
Never mind all the riddles, we're all sick the same
Bled dry and beaten for there ain't no shame
In taking hits, cuts or nicks as long as there's no excuses
We are here and time is relevant to mainline every worthy element
Or are we emptiness?
Are we dead to this?
When will it all end?
May we cure the catalyst?
Are we emptiness?
Are we dead to this?
We are here and time is relevant to mainline every worthy element now
Thrasher - Maui Babe (part 1 of 3)
No question, these guys had a blast in Hawaii. Kick back and enjoy the ride with
Drehobl, Partanen, Navs, Manderson, and others.

WTF flat ground tricks (1000 fps slow motion)
Uncommon skateboarding tricks in super slow motion. Filmed at 1,000 frames per second with a Redlake N3 high speed camera.
Since skateboarding trick names are defined by common usage and these tricks are not very common, some of them don't have well-established names. So here are my best guesses as to what they should be called:
Kyle McPherson -- nollie dolphin flip (AKA nollie forward flip)
Cameron Carmichael -- backside 180 casper flip (?) (or bs 180 hospital flip)
Jerrod Skorupski -- nollie heelflip bs body varial
David Case - nollie 360 shuv underflip (AKA nerd flip)
David Case - frontside shuv underflip (AKA kiwi flip)
Dustin Blauvelt - hardflip pretzel
Dustin Blauvelt - Merlin twist (switch front foot impossible fs 180)
Dustin Blauvelt - nollie heelflip indy grab
Shane Anderson - early grab frontside 180 fingerflip (?)
Jovan Pierson - pressure hardflip (?)
Jovan Pierson - ?? I don't know what this is, I just call it a Jovan flip
Erick Schaefer - backside pop shuv underflip
Tim Hamp - Nollie pressure hardflip (?)
Thanks to Funky Notes for the music. This song is called Never Knew.

Skating in a house - Schuster Skate Villa
Take one neglected house, add a bunch of top skateboarders,
throw in a few tonnes of building material and what do you get?
The coolest skate spot in Salzburg, created by skater Philipp Schuster
and friends inside a once glamorous hunting lodge.

Bon Iver - Towers
Bon Iver - Towers Lyrics
for the love, Iʼd fallen on
in the swampy August dawn
what a mischief you would bring young darling!
when the onus is not all your own
when you're up for it before you've grown
from the faun forever gone
in the towers of your honeycomb
I'd a tore your hair out just to climb back darling
when you're filling out your only form
can you tell that itʼs just ceremon'
now you've added up to what you're from
build your tether rain-out from your fragments…
break the sailor's table on your sacrum…
fuck the fiercest fables, I'm with Hagen
for the love, comes the burning young
from the liver, sweating through your tongue
well, youʼre standing on my sternum don't you climb down darling
oh the sermons are the first to rest
smoke on Sundays when youʼre drunk and dressed
out the hollows where the swallow nests
